We are growing our team and looking for a senior product leader with experience in both product management at a company and consulting to help lead engagements with our clients on both the enterprise and growth side of the business. 


Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Vice President of Product Management and Strategy to join our consulting group to work hands-on with our clients to grow or transform their business. You are multifaceted Product Leader who deeply understands what it takes to establish a great product management organization in the areas of organizational design, product strategy, operations, people, and process. While you may have had more experience at either growth stage companies or enterprise companies, you’ve gotten your hands dirty building a Product Organization and interfacing with executives to get that done. 

As a member of the team, the VP of Product Management and Strategy would work across both our enterprise and growth stage companies. With our enterprise companies you will be working with executives of the organization to assess, advise, and lead a team to set up product organizations at scale, of companies up to 45,000 people. With our growth stage companies, you’ll advise executive teams or jump in to play the role of the product executive to build orgs or strategies while one is being hired. In both cases, it all comes down to how do you scale effectively for this stage of company. 

You will: 

  • Act as Interim-Product Leader with client companies that don’t have existing C-suite or VP level product leadership in place.

  • Coach client company C-suite and VP executives on the roles of product management and which are ideal for their organization.

  • Identify gaps and transformation needs in client company product organization, practices and processes.

  • Work with and manage a team of skilled product management and analytics professionals to surface strategic product opportunities for client companies.

  • Deploy product organization and strategy transformations, leading the client engagement.

  • Help our client companies transform from instinct-based to evidence-based product operations.

  • Aide our clients in learning to focus on outcomes and not output.

  • Contribute thought leadership pieces and reusable playbooks to be shared both publicly and for internal sharing with our client companies.

  • Be a people manager and coach to other product managers and data analysts on your team.

This role is designed for product leaders who’ve established themselves to be on a solid VP of Product level (or Director level who oversees a P&L), who are hungry to make the last push to reach an executive level. This role will expose you to what it’s like to operate efficiently in an executive team at scale, communicate with boards of directors, and interface with investors.

You will work closely with data analysts and other senior product professionals to provide an end-to-end service to our clients - from business analysis to execution of product organization transformations.

Required Skills:

  • Solid track record in product management and product leadership (VP / Dir / GM of Product roles)

  • Experience in both enterprise and growth stage software product companies

  • Experience in people management

  • Deep understanding of creating lasting change in organizations

  • Ability to read financial statements and connect them to product performance

  • Thorough understanding of Agile and Lean concepts and their real-world execution

  • A humble confidence with an appetite and drive to learn as much as you can 

  • A desire to transform companies into product led organizations 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence

Experience in consulting preferred, but in lieu of, must demonstrate strong influence and political skills.

This role is a full time and located in our offices in Flatiron, New York City.
